Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic has sent a message to fans on Twitter, hinting at a possible departure from the club in the summer amid rumours he could leave.

The Serbian has enjoyed a successful spell at the south London club since he arrived in the Premier League from Greek side Olympiacos back in January 2017 for a fee of £13.59 million, taking the club captaincy and becoming a mainstay in the heart of midfield for the Eagles.

However, since the arrival of Patrick Vieira in the summer, the midfielder has found it difficult to find consistent starts in the first team, as the likes of Conor Gallagher, James McArthur, Jeffrey Schlupp and Eberechi Eze have been continuously picked ahead of him.

This had led to speculation regarding Milivojevic’s future at Selhurst Park, with recent reports suggesting he could leave in favour of returning to his former team in Greece. A recent Twitter post, shown below, pictures the captain taking a corner with his hand up in the air, almost waving goodbye to the team.

TIF Thoughts on Milivojevic’s departure…

There is no doubt the Serbian has been a great servant for the south London club since his arrival, constantly starting over the last few seasons while racking up an impressive goal tally through his superb penalty-taking ability.

In his 176 appearances for the Eagles, he has put up 28 goals and six assists while averaging an 85.5% passing accuracy with 1.1 crosses, 1.6 long balls, 0.8 key passes, 1.1 tackles and 0.9 clearances per game (as per WhoScored).

It might be time for the 31-year-old to move on, as he struggles to find consistent game time in this new-look Palace side, but he will surely be missed by the fans after six seasons at the club.
