Crystal Palace are looking to finish the season strong to secure a top half finish in Patrick Vieira’s first season in the dugout, currently sitting 11th place and just one point off the top 10.

Although overall it has been a positive season for the Frenchman who has guided his side to 10 wins and 14 draws this campaign, he still has some cause for concern in the squad.

Have Crystal Palace underachieved?

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has been talking to GiveMeSport, highlighting what he believes is a real issue for the manager: “I do think Palace are going to have a look at their full-back situation, they’ve got Nathan Ferguson, who’s out injured again, and that’s becoming a real worry now. Palace aren’t saying they’re worried, but I think you have got to be now because he keeps getting injured left, right and centre.”

TIF thoughts on Michael Bridge’s comments…

You just need to look at the availability of the defender to see the problems he has had and provides the manager with. This season he only has three overall appearances to his name, eight minutes in the Premier League then two outings in Premier League 2.

Which Inbetweeners star is a massive Palace fan?

So Bridge is right, his availability is sure to be a worry at Palace, especially considering this isn’t a new issue. Last season he missed 49 games through injury too, so the fact this is a persistent problem and the young defender is rarely available is far from ideal for Vieira.
