Tony Scott has been heaping praise on Frank Lampard’s work behind the scenes at Everton while speaking on the All Together Now podcast.

The turnaround that has gone on at Goodison Park in recent times has been nothing short of magnificent with Lampard and his players masterminding a run of just one defeat in their previous six league matches which has seen them move two points clear of the drop zone.

Is Lampard's best manager since Moyes?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Everton managed to record back to back victories while relegation rivals Burnley and Leeds United lost at least once which has seen them move comfortably up the table a few places, but something that has become very apparent is that the Toffees are a lot stronger at the back conceding just five goals in their last six matches.

Scott believes this is largely down to what Lampard has been doing at Finch Farm.

(5:23) “We’ve conceded one goal in these three games and it shows you how much hard work is going on behind the scenes there and what Frank Lampard’s doing with the staff to play Chelsea at home, Leicester away and Watford and to concede one goal and them three.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

While the return of a solid holding midfielder in Fabian Delph and the Colombian international Yerry Mina, who boasts the best points per game tally in the Everton squad this season to have started a game, the superb form Jordan Pickford finds himself in has been a massive factor.

The England number one has pulled off countless stunning saves against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester City which has almost certainly kept them in games and helped them pick up three points and that’s what Everton needed, their big name and big-time players to step up when it really mattered and be the difference makers.
