Although Steven Gerrard’s side put in a resilient performance to keep the title chasers to just a narrow win, Ollie Watkins was forced off with a knock.
Ben Dinnery gave his injury expertise on the Watkins situation, having the following to say on his injury round-up: “Big talking point, everybody waiting to know about Ollie Watkins. The long and the short of it is he was forced off against Liverpool after taking a heavy knock to the ankle. Good news is, it’s only an impact, so nothing too serious. Club doctor has assessed and said that the striker cold return to the training pitches on Saturday.”

Watkins hasn’t been at his best this season, scoring on ten occasions and assisting one in his 32 Premier League outings. However, he still ranks as the fourth highest rating per game, averages the second most shots per game and has hit a nice patch of form having scored two in his last three games in Premier League games.
