Ezri Konsa has sent a moving message to Aston Villa fans for the support they showed him after going off injured at the weekend.
It’s been a somewhat difficult season for Konsa this term as he has spent a decent amount of time out of the first-team squad since the new year, starting just 8 of Villa’s last 14 games in the Premier League.

However, the fact that Konsa has spent time out of the starting XI goes to show how important he is for Aston Villa with the Midlands side, winning just three of the seven league game that he’s missed.
In Villa’s final home game of the season, Konsa went down with another injury that saw him substituted after 50 minutes, but despite this setback and cruel blow, the defender was quick to thank the fans for rallying around him, as he posted on Instagram: “Thank you for all the messages and support great atmosphere today last push next week.”

This season would have been one of hope and excitement for Konsa after establishing himself as a Premier League regular last campaign and starting 35 games in the top flight, but after several setbacks and not being selected every week by Steven Gerrard in recent months, Konsa will know next season has to be a big improvement.
Konsa will have to ensure he can remain fit and on the pitch and prove himself in pre-season, as in the last 10 games, three of them saw him sit on the bench, so potentially, Gerrard is not fully convinced by him and thus, this summer could be a nervous one for the defender as his future certainly isn’t clear.
