Aston Villa supporters will love what Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett recently said about their club in the wake of their impressive signings of Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos early in the summer transfer window.

The Villans has enjoyed a good season under their new manager Steven Gerrard after he took over from Dean Smith in November 2021. While they only managed to finish 14th, Gerrard has bought in a better style of play while attracting huge players like the two aforementioned players as well as Phillipe Coutinho who completed his permanent move recently.

Villa fans will be ecstatic at these latest transfers and rightfully so, it shows that the club’s hierarchy wants to back their new manager and shows they have the desire to push up the table and eventually challenge for a potential European spot.

Much to the delight of Villa fans, it seems as if their business is not done yet, according to Sky Sport’s Dorsett, fans can expect several new signings including a former man who played under Gerrard at Rangers.

He wrote on Twitter, “#avfc aren’t done yet, after stunning start to window, despite already committing £43m to 3 new signings. Understand Villa are among a number of PL clubs who’ve made enquiries about defender Calvin Bassey – who #rangersfc value at £25m+. See #ssn”

TIF Thoughts on Villa’s transfer business…

While they did not finish much higher than they were under Smith it is obvious the desire to back the manager and push up the table is still there for the club. while signings over the years of Ollie Watkins, Emi Buendia, and Matty Cash have been great signings, bringing in Champions League level players like Kamara and Carlos feels like a step forward.

They have also been heavily linked with Luis Suarez in recent weeks and adding him to their strike force will make them a force in the league, fans can get very excited about the prospect of pushing up the table more so than ever now.

Villa fans should be very excited about the prospect of signing these additional players because as well as adding talent they’ll also add depth to the squad. Villa has dealt with injuries to key passions throughout the season including Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Kortney Hause and Leon Bailey. Bringing in three or four more players will help them resolve this issue and push better players onto the bench, giving Gerrard more options throughout their next campaign.
