Paul Merson has sent a warning to Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and his squad in the pundits’ latest column for Sportskeeda.

It is possibly one of the biggest games between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in recent years as a win would put Spurs just one point behind their rivals in the race for the top four, whereas a loss would see them no longer be able to finish inside the top four.

Will Spurs win tonight?

Spurs and Antonio Conte will likely be confident of picking up all three points with the crunch clash being played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and are coming off the back of a very positive result at Anfield.

Merson has acknowledged how important it is for Conte and Spurs tonight as he wrote in his Sportskeeda column:

“Tottenham are a very good football-playing side, but it’s a little funny if you think of the fact that they are fifth in the table despite doing the double over Manchester City and drawing home and away to Liverpool.

“They still have time to make amends, but a draw is an absolute waste of time for them against Arsenal.”

Conte and his players will be well aware of how important it is for Spurs to pick up all three points tonight as finishing inside the top four will give them a different kind of pulling power when it comes to signing players, compared to if they can only offer Europa League football.

This game was supposed to be played back in January only for the Gunners to get it called off due to virus issues, although very few players reportedly actually had the virus, something Conte has brought up recently, so that could well be an added incentive for them to pick up a massive win.
