Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is in no rush to put pen to paper on a new deal at Hotspur Way this summer.

That is according to football journalist Pete O’Rourke speaking to This Is Futbol, who believes there will be plenty of speculation surrounding the 28-year-old’s future this summer.

Do you expect Kane to sign a new deal at Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Kane has just two years remaining on his current deal with the Lilywhites following a summer, last year, of intense transfer rumours.

There have been some suggestions Manchester United hold an interest in the England captain ahead of the summer with their local rivals edging closer to signing Erling Haaland.

And with Tottenham’s spot in the Champions League not confirmed for next season, O’Rourke feels a new deal may not necessarily be a formality:

Yeah, we’ll have more speculation Harry Kane this summer, that’s for sure. There’s no doubt about that. I don’t think he’s in any rush right now to sign a new contract. He’s obviously been encouraged by the improvements in the team under Antonio Conte,” said O’Rourke.

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

We think this may be a concern to some Spurs fans, however, we do question what teams can provide a realistic landing spot for Kane if Manchester City do sign Haaland?

It is believed Kane is not interested in a potential move to United this summer and Liverpool are unlikely to feel the need to spend big money on another forward given their surplus of goals on their side.

We really do think Kane’s options have become extremely limited with City potentially off the table and we would not be surprised to see him sign a new deal with Spurs – albeit perhaps not this summer.
