Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch was left furious on the sideline in the first half of their game on Monday night with the conduct of an opposition player.

It was a trip to the capital for the Yorkshire side as Crystal Palace welcomed Marsch’s men to Selhurst Park but it was apparent Wilfried Zaha left the 48-year-old a frustrated figure in the dugout.

Will Leeds avoid the drop?

The Whites went into the game knowing three points would be huge in their fight against the drop with the trip to Selhurst Park giving Everton and Burnley a game in hand on Marsch’s side.

It was not the prettiest of games with both sides committing fouls throughout the games which saw 25 free kicks awarded by the referee (via SofaScore).

And speaking for BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton spoke of Marsch’s frustrations over the antics of Zaha in trying to get some of his Leeds players booked by Darren England:

“Jesse Marsch is really upset with the antics of Zaha. He is throwing himself to the floor too easily. There is contact but does he need to go down so easily?” said Sutton.

TIF Thoughts on Sutton’s comments…

It was a game full of strong challenges with a serious lack of quality shown by both sides in the final third of the pitch and a handful of shots on target to show between them (via SofaScore).

Zaha may have had his frustrations with the referee having been fouled on four occasions, however, he also committed three fouls during the game too.

So we think Marsch has every right to be frustrated with Zaha who has built up a reputation over the years of casting an angry figure on the Palace wing.
