Celtic podcaster Ryan McGinlay praised the performance of Greg Taylor following the 2-0 victory over Ross County, and his impact on the team.

The Bhoys won away on Sunday thanks to goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota, and retained their six-point lead at the top of the Premiership table over Rangers. Taylor started on the left side of the back four and has come in for plenty of praise for his performance.

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

Writing on Twitter, McGinlay said, “I’ve done the biggest u-turn on this man but we’re a far better team with Greg in it”.

TIF Thoughts on Taylor

It was a strong display from Taylor, who helped reduce Ross County to just one shot on target throughout the match while also contributing going forward, making two key passes. In the league, he has played 19 times this term, and it is perhaps telling that two of the three games Ange Postecoglou’s side have lost this in that competition came without the 24-year-old in the starting line-up.

Celtic are not exactly blessed with left-backs at the moment, which has allowed Taylor to nail down a starting spot and prove his worth to the manager. This is now his third season at Celtic Park and, after coming in for criticism at times, he finally looks to have settled and appears comfortable with the expectations placed on his and his teammates’ shoulders.

There remains room for improvement but, given his age, he could have a long career at Celtic if he continues on this path.
