Pundit Tam McManus has claimed that Alfredo Morelos may never play for Rangers again as he is set to be side-lined for the remainder of the season.

Alfredo Morelos has sustained an injury whilst on international duty with Colombia and is set to miss the remainder of the season. Morelos is the club’s top scorer in this campaign with 19 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions.

The Rangers striker was linked with a move away from the Ibrox in January, with Newcastle United showing heavy interest, but a deal failed to go through. However, if Rangers fail to qualify for Champions League football ahead of next season, then Morelos may be off in the summer.

With Morelos being out for the rest of the season, Tam McManus has claimed on the PLZ Soccer YouTube channel that he may have kicked his last ball in a Rangers shirt, after he may leave the club in the summer.

“I don’t think he’ll play again for Rangers, I think they’ll sell him.”

He then went on to say his injury may now mean that the Gers get a lower fee:

“I think it’s a blow for the player and for Rangers as a club for getting the biggest fee.”

TIF Thoughts on Tam McManus’ comments…

Alfredo Morelos has been a consistent performer for Rangers over the past five seasons, he has scored 113 goals and registered 51 assists in 224 games over this period.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Morelos in the summer, especially if Rangers do not qualify for the Champions League, as he may seek a new challenge elsewhere.

Morelos has been the main man up top for Rangers since he arrived in 2017, so it will be a massive loss if he was to depart in the summer, as they would have to find an adequate replacement which may be hard to come by.
