Rangers fans will surely be buzzing with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s latest comments to have emerged live on Sky Sports prior to the Gers’ Europa League clash.

The Glasgow giants are gearing up for one of their biggest games in the club’s recent history as they travel to Germany to face a second Bundesliga outfit in the Europa League knockout stages in the form of RB Leipzig, who are on a superb run of form with just one defeat in their last 16 matches.

Will Rangers beat RB Leipzig?

Yes!

No!

No!

However, considering that Rangers have already knocked out Bundesliga high-flyers Borussia Dortmund this season, they will surely have no fear when coming up against a side that are lower than Dortmund in the league, with Leipzig trailing them by nine points.

Van Bronckhorst has been speaking about the game live on Sky Sports during his pre-match press conference, and said: “Of course, it’s exciting, playing a semi-final is exciting, reaching a final, of course, it’s very exciting. But still, you have to overcome the semi-final, we’ve watched Leipzig play a lot of times, we are preparing well for the game.

“Of course, you feel you’re coming close to the final, but in the end, it’s still two games to be played and we’re going to play against a tough opponent, but we will do everything we can, give 100% in both legs to be in the final next week.”

TIF Thoughts on Van Bronckhorst’s comments…

Rangers fans may not have expected their side to still be in European competition at this stage of the season, however, they’ve battled well and fully deserve their spot in the semi-finals. But it’s now business time, and fans will be happy to know that Van Bronckhorst is keeping them focused on the task at hand, acknowledging that there are still two games until the final.

While this will be a tough game for Rangers given the form that Leipzig are currently in – especially attacker Christopher Nkunku, who has 50 goal involvements this season – Gers fans will take confidence into that match after Van Bronckhorst admitted they will do absolutely everything they can and give 100% to progress, as that’s all supporters can ask for.
