Former West Ham United player Tony Cottee has sent an exciting message out on Twitter ahead of the club’s huge Europa League game.

The Hammers are set to take on Lyon in the quarter-final of the Europa League after pulling off a huge win in the last round against Sevilla, who have won the competition in four of the last eight seasons, so this will be a game that David Moyes and his side will go into full of confidence.

Will West Ham win tonight?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

While West Ham will be excited by this task and feel like they can take on anyone after beating Sevilla, Lyon were in the Champions League semi-finals not too long ago, which means this will by no means be an easy fixture, so a strong home performance, just as they had the last round, could be crucial for Moyes’ men.

Cottee has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the clash, saying he was ‘really excited about the game tonight’, but acknowledged that it would be a ‘really tough game’.

TIF Thoughts on West Ham’s Europa League chances…

West Ham will have likely fancied their chances anyway against Lyon. who are only ninth in Ligue 1, but their recent form will make the Hammers lick their lips even more, as they have just one win in their last four games across all competitions.

In comparison, West Ham have lost just once in their last four matches – which was a 1-0 defeat away to Sevilla, which turned out to be a very good result. If Jarrod Bowen is declared fit, the Hammers should be seen as favourites, simply because of the form he’s shown this season and that his most recent injury has not had any impact on him amid his goalscoring return at the weekend.
