Tony Cottee has tweeted out a motivational message ahead of West Ham United’s huge Europa League clash.
West Ham travel away to Lyon with the game finely poised at 1-1 after the Hammers managed to hold on for a draw at the London Stadium last Thursday, despite being down to 10 men for the entirety of the second half as Aaron Cresswell was handed his marching orders.

The Hammers know that if they can get past Lyon, a potential semi-final tie against European giants Barcelona awaits, but David Moyes has acknowledged that the tie tonight could be very close, so won’t be getting carried away by what could happen if they win.
Cottee has tweeted that he will be in attendance for the game and couldn’t hide his excitement, as he said: ‘Really excited for tonight’s game! Been lucky enough to get tickets and I can’t wait for this one… Massive game for this club. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!’

The Hammers will back themselves to get something against the Ligue 1 outfit considering they more than held their own when down to 10 men last week, so with 11 on the pitch, as well as having the in-form Jarrod Bowen on the counter-attack, it could be a great night for West Ham fans.
It’s obvious that if West Ham are to progress this evening, they will have to keep a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur loanee Tanguy Ndombele, who netted the equaliser last week and also racked up the most touches out of anyone on the pitch (FBRef), so he was clearly very influential on the game, which means Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek may have a tough job on their hands this evening.
