Tottenham Hotspur could revisit a potential swoop for midfielder Jack Harrison if his club were to face relegation from the Premier League.

This is according to football journalist Pete O’Rourke who was speaking to This Is Futbol ahead of the run-in to the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign.

Spurs have been linked with a potential move for the Englishman with Fabio Paratici receiving a recommendation on the 25-year-old from Andrea Pirlo.

It is believed the Leeds ace is viewed as a player who could potentially play at left wing-back for Antonio Conte and O’Rourke feels Leeds’ Premier League status could have a big effect on his future:

Harrison is a good player obviously provides a lot of crosses and assists for Leeds United and his experience in the Premier League as well,” said O’Rourke.

“So maybe if Leeds were to go down, it might be something that Tottenham revisit and look to see if they can offer him a chance to stay in the Premier League.”

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

We do agree with O’Rourke in the sense of the end to Leeds’ Premier League campaign could prove critical in their ability to keep hold of players such as Harrison.

The 25-year-old has an impressive 2020/21 campaign in the Premier League which saw him grab eight goals and eight assists, however, he has been unable to match his creative output this season. His transformation was even described as ‘phenomenal’ and it was even claimed that he could get in the Man City side.

This could be put down to the injury suffered to Leeds’ only senior striker in Patrick Bamford who has been sidelined for the large majority of the campaign leaving the Whites to rely on some of their youngsters.

So with a player of Harry Kane‘s ability to provide chances, we would be interested to see how the Leeds ace would fare in Conte’s XI.
