Tottenham Hotspur have already spoken internally about the possibility of bringing back Christian Eriksen in the summer transfer window.

This has been claimed by the reliable Spurs correspondent for football.london, Alasdair Gold, who was discussing the Dane’s future on his latest YouTube video.

Would Eriksen on a free be a good move?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Spurs faced Eriksen and his Brentford side at the weekend as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Reports have speculated the Lilywhites could be in line to make the 30-year-old an offer in the summer when his deal with the Bees is set to expire.

And with Gold claiming the Dane would be looking to remain in London, the reporter dropped an exciting insight into some of the discussions within the club.

He said: “I know Spurs have spoken, have had discussions about bringing him in as a free agent – as in amongst themselves. I think there’s going to be a queue of competition for him.

“I don’t think he left Spurs, from what I understand, on the best of terms with the hierarchy at the club. But he does love the club, and that was very clear in the way he was yesterday [Saturday] with everyone. And he wants to stay in London, from what I understand as well, with his family.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We think Spurs should be all over a possible return to N17 for Eriksen. Antonio Conte has already expressed his desire to bring in a number 10 in the summer and Eriksen 0n a free could make a lot of sense.

You only have to look at Brentford’s upturn in form with Eriksen playing to see the Dane’s impact since returning to the Premier League, with just one loss to their name in his seven appearances. The Brentford boss even called the Dane ‘unbelievable’ after the Bees’ win over Chelsea earlier this season.

In the Dane’s six starts, the Bees have secured 16 points from a possible 18, and we think if he could bring this form back to Spurs, it would make a lot of sense for the Lilywhites.
