Wor Flags have sent out a resounding message to Newcastle United fans ahead of this weekends clash.

Newcastle United welcome one of the best teams in world football to St James’ park on Saturday with Eddie Howe hoping his side can pull off a shock result, and extend their unbeaten run at home while also shaking things up in the Premier League title race.

Can Newcastle beat Liverpool on Saturday?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, there appears to be a focus on things happening off the pitch with the NUFC foodbank speaking to The Chronicle about the need for and to keep donating to their matchday pledge and also, the importance of not singing about people going hungry or some fans, potentially ones in Red, desperately looking for food to feed themselves and their families.

This message has been echoed by popular fan group Wor Flags who have said ‘without wanting to be the chant police, we fully back @BillCorcoran &@nufcfoodbank. There’s a foodbank just over our shoulder… Back the team. Howay the lads!’

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

There is one chant that is rather well-known about Scousers and the wrong perception that they need feeding by others but with the North East seeing more than 100,000 people rely on food banks, this is certainly not the message that the club want its supporters to be sending out.

Instead, Wor Flags’ message is a very simple one, if you’re going to the match on Saturday, then get behind the team and give your full support as they will certainly need it against a Liverpool side that have not lost in the league all year.
