Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the Here We Go podcast about the future of Allan Saint-Maximin at Newcastle United.

For so long, Allan Saint-Maximin has been the main man at Newcastle, with the Frenchman finishing with at least seven Premier League goal contributions since he arrived on Tyneside. This campaign has been no different, as he is currently enjoying his best season in front of goal with five goals and three assists.

Should Newcastle sell Saint-Maximin?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, under Eddie Howe alone, Saint-Maximin has just the three goals to his name and found himself starting on the bench for four games, which has seen reports suggesting that PIF and Newcastle are willing to move on from the winger this summer.

Romano has dropped an update for Newcastle fans about the future of Saint-Maximin.

He said: “Saint-Maximin is always performing for Newcastle, the manager Eddie Howe clarified that there are no intentions to sell him in the summer. There were rumours about Aston Villa, but now the priority for Newcastle is to continue with Saint-Maximin.”

TIF Thoughts on Saint-Maximin…

While Saint-Maximin has not been performing to the same level as he was under Steve Bruce, he showed why he is so important to Newcastle on Friday evening against Wolves when the game was locked at 0-0 before a piece of magic from the winger set the Magpies away on a counter-attack which saw them win a penalty to take the lead.

Some reports have suggested that the Magpies would be willing to part ways with Saint-Maximin this summer as they plot moves for the likes of Brennan Johnson, Moussa Diaby and Leandro Trossard, but considering he only signed a new contract last year, it would surely require a huge fee to get the club talking about a potential sale.
