TalkSport host Adrian Durham has suggested Newcastle United could make a move for Richarlison this summer.

The Saudi Arabian Private Investment Fund’s billions mean the Magpies now have incredible spending power. They parted with just undwer £100m during the January transfer window as they brought in five new faces, and a rise into the Premier League’s top ten has validated that splurge.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

Plenty more money will undoubtedly be spent this summer, and Durham has suggested the Toon could make a move for Richarlison. Appearing on TalkSport discussing which players he could envisage making a switch to Tyneside, he said: “I could see Richarlison going there as well, because whatever you say about him being on the floor all the time, he’s actually a good player and a Brazil regular.”

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison’s future

Few players have shone for Everton this season, and while Richarlison, who is valued at £45 million (Transfermarkt), has failed to match his performances from previous campaigns, he remains the most dangerous in front of goal. No one has as many as his eight goals for Everton this term, while only Abdoulaye Doucoure can match his four assists.

As alluded to by Durham, he already has 34 caps for Brazil, and 50 goals in 147 matches for his current club is a solid return. The likes of Barcelona have previously been heavily linked with his services, so there is no reason he would not be good enough for Newcastle, and if Everton are relegated to the Championship, the £45m-valued 24-year-old may even be available for a bargain fee.

There will be plenty of names thrown around in connection to a switch to St James’ Park, but Eddie Howe and co could do a lot worse than Richarlison.
