Newcastle United lost another game in the Premier League as they were blown away 5-1 by Antonio Conte’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Newcastle took the lead when Fabian Schar fired a free kick beyond Hugo Lloris late in the opening 45. Ben Davies was on hand to give Spurs something to cling onto at the break, scoring even later in the half to see the sides go in at the break all square.

The second half saw Spurs run riot over Eddie Howe’s side. Matt Doherty, Heung-Min Son, Emerson Royal and Steven Bergwijn got their names on the scoresheet to ensure Tottenham humbled the Magpies.

Lee Ryder’s player ratings aren’t pretty for Newcastle, slamming Ryan Fraser with a 3/10, justifying it with: “Caught between two stools. No answer to Doherty’s overlapping runs.”

It was a poor day at the office for Fraser who struggled to make an impact on proceedings. He was that ineffective, he actually ended up having fewer touches than Newcastle ‘keeper Martin Dubravka (35 compared to 38), a worrying stat for an outfield player. He didn’t attempt any dribbles in the game, summing up his passenger like performance.
