Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Calvin Ramsay will be on the radar of Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ramsay has been on the radar of many Premier League sides, and Leeds are keen on bringing him to Elland Road in the summer. Leeds have struggled this season, particularly defensively as they have conceded the second-highest amount of goals in the Premier League (68).

18-year-old defender Ramsay came through the Aberdeen youth academy and broke into the first team this season, featuring 23 times in the Scottish Premiership for the Dons so far.

With Ramsay being linked with a move to Leeds in the summer, O’Rourke highlighted to GiveMeSport that he is very highly rated and be of interest to many clubs.

He said: “I think he would come onto the radar for Leeds. There will be a massive price tag, he’s a very highly-rated young player, and he’s done very well up in Scotland with Aberdeen.

“There’s been the likes of Liverpool, who have been linked with him, Aston Villa, a few other clubs as well.”

TIF Thoughts on Pete O’Rourke’s comments…

Ramsay has had a superb breakthrough season for Aberdeen and has been used heavily by Jim Goodwin, while he had also been described as elite by Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack after his impressive performances in his first season in senior football.

Jesse Marsch may be expected to make some big changes in his first summer transfer window at the club, especially with the poor season Leeds have had. Ramsay could be a great option for the American as he is just 18 years old, so he can learn from experienced defenders such as Liam Cooper.

Ramsay has also played further forward during his time in the Aberdeen academy, with the young defender recording five assists to his name in the Scottish Premiership, so he can offer his services at both ends of the pitch.
