A recent Instagram post shows Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts ripping into fellow teammate Ian Poveda for taking videos of himself during a gym session.

The feeling around the Leeds dressing room must be one of elation after their recent turn of form under new boss Jesse Marsch which sees them sitting nine points clear of the relegation zone in 16th after their latest 3-0 win over Watford thanks to goals from Raphinha, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison.

This feeling of excitement over a likely third consecutive season in the Premier League was shown when forward Tyler Roberts posted on Instagram catching teammate Poveda filming himself, captioning it with ‘Another One’, whilst laughing at him.

While the pair have not featured much for the Whites this season – Poveda has been on loan at Blackburn Rovers while Roberts’ 23 league appearances have largely been off the bench, with both currently nursing injuries – it will surely make fans happy to see that the atmosphere at the club is upbeat during this tough time in the season.

TIF Thoughts on the post…

It is good to see that both players are seemingly enjoying their time at the club when not long ago they were dragged right into the middle of a relegation battle, which can be of serious detriment to the mindset of the players and staff at the club.

It is especially good to see between two bit-part players like Roberts and Poveda, as playing this sort of role can also negatively affect a player’s mentality. Roberts has seen more game time for the West Yorkshire team, featuring 31 times in all competitions, with 20 of his appearances coming off the bench. He has racked up one goal and one assist while averaging 1.5 shots, 0.7 key passes, and 0.5 dribbles per game with a 74.6% pass accuracy (as per WhoScored).

Poveda, on the other hand, has been on loan to Championship side Blackburn, who are battling for promotion through the play-off spots. The 22-year-old has featured eight times for Rovers and has one goal and two assists to his name in this time, though he has been out of action since November (as per Transfermarkt).

Leeds look set to survive the season once again and in order to do so, it is important to keep morale up inside the club, from the players to the staff and it looks like they have successfully done this.
