Journalist Joe Donnohue has been left rather impressed by Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips after hearing how he spent his Easter break.

This weekend, the Whites were afforded some time off as they didn’t have a game to play in the Premier League.

And so, to make the most of his Easter, Phillips opted to take his family on holiday, while also squeezing in a bit of golf with teammate Mateusz Klich.

Will Kalvin Phillips be a Leeds player next season?

It seems as though Donnohue was taken aback by the ‘grounded’ way the England international spent his break, and he made his feelings known on Twitter.

Donnohue wrote: “Kalvin Phillips’ character has never been up for debate, but his latest only reinforces how grounded he remains. Given time off over the Easter weekend, he’s taken his mum and siblings on holiday – and still found time for a round or two with @Cli5hy.”

TIF Thoughts on Kalvin Phillips and Leeds…

While other England stars have spent past holidays in less desirable ways – for instance, Harry Maguire was caught up in legal trouble in Greece last summer – it seems Phillips has had a much more lowkey break. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why Donnohue is so impressed.

The 26-year-old will be hoping this short holiday will give him a bit more time to recover from an injury that has kept him from a lot of football in recent times.

Indeed, he has made just two league appearances so far this year, but has come off the bench in Leeds’ last two matches. Having now recharged his batteries a little longer, he will likely aim to impress on the pitch for his club in the final stages of the season.
