Leeds United took the bold decision to sack Marcelo Bielsa as the threat of relegation stared them in the face. They opted to replace him with American coach Jesse Marsch.

Marsch registered yet another win in the Leeds United dugout on Saturday afternoon, putting fellow strugglers Watford to the sword at Vicarage Road.

The scoring was opened by Raphinha in the opening 45 minutes to give Leeds the advantage. Rodrigo and Jack Harrison also got their names on the scoresheet in the second half as the Whites secured a 3-0 win.

After settling into the role, BBC Sport’s report was keen to mention the impact made by Marsch, stating: “Leeds fans celebrating – and rightly so. Their team are now nine points clear of the bottom three. Jesse Marsch is a happy man – he’s made a massive difference to the club.”

First up in this 2020/21 LUFC quiz, which of these players did NOT score against Liverpool in the 4-3 defeat at Anfield?

The Whites now have a nine-point cushion to the drop zone after the win on Saturday, giving themselves a decent lead over those below them.

Games in hand could help the likes of Everton and Burnley catch and overtake Marsch’s side, but at this stage of the season, points on the board are much more desirable than games in the pocket.
