Journalist Beren Cross has sung the praises of Leeds United youngster Nohan Kenneh after he put in a dazzling performance during a recent academy game.

Earlier this week, the Whites U23 team thumped Crystal Palace 4-0 in a Premier League 2 clash. A hat-trick from Crysencio Summerville and a further effort from Stuart McKinstry was more than enough to seal the win, but it seems the display of Kenneh really caught the eye against the Eagles’ youngsters.

Indeed, in the player ratings posted by LeedsLive, Kenneh was given an 8/10 performance and impressed with his ‘commanding’ presence in midfield.

Cross wrote: “Formidable in the middle of the park. Assertive, physical, commanding and dominated the middle of the pitch. Not bad to say he had been fasting all day in line with Ramadan.”

TIF Thoughts on Nohan Kenneh and Leeds…

As Cross mentions, it’s even more impressive that Kenneh put in such an impressive display when he had been fasting all day. And it sounds as if the journalist wasn’t the only one content with the player’s efforts.

Indeed, U23 manager Andrew Taylor told LeedsLive after the game how ‘outstanding’ he felt the 19-year-old was.

He said “He was outstanding tonight. His presence, his pressing, his winning the ball back was really good, but then he was good on the ball.

Will Nohan Kenneh make it as a first-team player?

No

“He drove forward, he played passes, as I said, he’s been fasting all day so he’s not had any food or drink which adds another dimension to it.”

It’s not the first time he’s looked good this season, either. Indeed, against Chelsea in March, he received another 8/10 rating, this time playing in defence – showing his versatility.

Up to this stage in his career, Kenneh is still yet to take to the pitch for the senior team, but if he can keep putting in performances like this, a call-up to the first team may not be too far away.
