According to journalist Paul Brown, Everton could let Allan leave this summer as the midfielder has not indicated he would be willing to sign a new contract.

Brazilian Allan made the move to Goodison Park in 2020 from Napoli, signing a three-year deal. At the end of the campaign, he will have just 12 months left on his contract.

Do you remember who Alex Iwobi was signed from?

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown suggested the Toffees could let Allan go as he has not shown any desire to sign a new contract at the club.

He said: “It sounds like they’ll let Allan go. He’s got one year left and has made no noises about wanting to re-sign. He’s 31; that’s probably his time done.”

TIF Thoughts on Allan’s future…

Allan, along with James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure, was signed by Carlo Ancelotti as the Merseyside outfit looked to challenge for a European spot. However, those players have failed to have the desired impact, with Rodriguez even having left the club altogether.

The Brazilian, who is valued at £16.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), is a battler in the middle of the park – he has averaged more tackles in the Premier League this term than any of his teammates, while he also led the way last season. However, he offers little going forward, with a 79.9% passing accuracy and just two assists this campaign.

At 31 years of age, the end of his career is closer than the start, but he still has a market value of £16.2m. Therefore, he remains an asset to Everton and could bring in some much-needed cash during the summer, especially if the Toffees are relegated to the Championship.
