Greg O’Keeffe has slammed the FA’s decision to ask Frank Lampard to explain his latest comments after Everton’s defeat on the All Together Now podcast.

Evertonians are still maybe rightfully aggrieved by what occurred during their 2-0 defeat in the Merseyside derby with Anthony Gordon going over twice in the penalty box, only to receive one yellow card and zero spot-kicks for his troubles.

Should Lampard be punished by the FA?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This has led to Everton requesting the PGMOL to explain why the decision didn’t go their way and to make matters even worse, Frank Lampard has now been asked by the FA to clear up what he meant when the manager claimed if Salah went down as Gordon did in front of the Kop then it would have likely been different.

O’Keeffe believes that this just adds insult to injury for Everton and their fans.

“I think what adds insult to injury, the FA are essentially threatening to wrap Lampard’s knuckles for his comments over the referee, saying that if it was Salah at the other end in front of the Kop, it’s a penalty, so it just gets worse and worse.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

Opta has revealed that Liverpool are currently on the longest current run without being on the wrong end of receiving a penalty with the run now standing at 46 games, so this will have likely played into the mind of Lampard when speaking about the penalty his side didn’t get.

Given Everton’s perilous potion in the Premier League table, it’s no surprise that Lampard was clearly frustrated by the decisions from the Merseyside derby as they need everything to go their way if they are to remain in the division, especially if Burnley and Leeds United’s respective runs of form continue.
