Liverpool striker Divock Origi is expected to leave Anfield this summer with AC Milan already holding talks with the striker’s agents over a possible move.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano who was discussing what could lie ahead for the Reds in the summer transfer window on his latest Here We Go podcast.

Will Origi be a big miss?

No

No

The Belgian initially joined Liverpool in 2017 on loan from Wolfsburg but with his contract coming to a conclusion at the end of the campaign, he looks set to leave.

West Ham United were linked with a potential swoop for the Belgian in January but the decision will now be left up to the striker as he is set to become a free agent in the summer.

And Romano believes the Serie A side are one of the sides looking to land the soon-to-be free agent in the summer as they aim to strengthen their options up top:

(9:50) “For Divock Origi, first point, many, many chances for him to leave Liverpool in the summer as a free agent because at the moment the expectation for him is to go, is to try a new experience.

“He wants to try something different. AC Milan are looking for a striker. They met with Divock Origi’s agents. They made a proposal. The agreement, the verbal agreement is close. So they’re pushing on AC Milan’s side to sign Divock Origi on a free.”

TIF Thoughts on Origi’s future…

With the ageing duo of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud currently in their squad, the 26-year-old Liverpool ace would provide Stefano Pioli with a set of fresh legs whilst retaining a lot of European experience.

And we think Origi deserves to move on in order to find himself some first-team football having been a great servant for Jurgen Klopp’s side over the years.

The Belgian boasts an impressive goal return for the Reds given he has predominately been used as a substitute and he certainly played a big role in their 2019 Champions League triumph.
