Wolves reporter Nathan Judah has been discussing the fortunes of loanee Francisco Trincao, who has a £25 million option.

It’s fair to say that Trincao’s loan to Molineux has been far from successful. Having joined the club this past summer, he has gone on to make 22 appearances for Bruno Lage’s men, only managing to score the solitary goal in an early Carabao Cup tie.

And whilst he has been able to put up some impressive numbers statistically, averaging 1.1 shots per game and 1.7 dribbles both of which rank in the top five for Wolves players this season whilst also completing 82.2% of his passes (per WhoScored), it just hasn’t been able to translate into tangible results for the club.

Fitness issues plagued Silvio's career, but where did Wolves sign him from?

Speaking on the latest edition of the E&S Wolves podcast (20:33), Judah expressed his feelings towards the 22-year-old and claimed that his attitude was part of the problem for him at the club and that based off the information he has managed to gather from speaking to people, it seems almost certain that he won’t be part of the picture next season:

“But I’ve kind of had enough with this guy, he’s had too many chances now. I don’t think his heart’s in it. I think that you can still do the basics and look energetic and look like you want to be there, and to me he doesn’t look like he wants to be there. He doesn’t look like he wants to be on that pitch. And I think a lot of people have maybe made a call on him now.

“And I’m not sure how much we’ll see of Trincao, there’s no way I mean, look, speaking to a lot of my fellow journalists and some of the people at the club it, I’ll be stunned if he’s at the club, going into next season, regardless of whether they can work a deal out with Barcelona.”

TIF Thoughts on Nathan Judah’s comments about Francisco Trincao at Wolves…

Have you been impressed with Trincao so far this season?

So based on Judah’s comments, it looks as if there are people within the club that are coming to the conclusion that he hasn’t been able to produce enough this season to warrant staying on further.

It can’t be said that he wasn’t given a fair chance to try and prove himself, unlike say Donny van de Beek when he was at Manchester United, and as Judah hints at perhaps part of the problem has been his attitude that has been holding him back.

But at least Wolves can take comfort with it only being a loan and they won’t feel like they have wasted their money on him, they can just cut whatever minimal losses that they have invested in him and just send him back to his old club and that will be the end of it.

You just have to hope that their scouts do a better job with the person that they decide to replace him with.
