West Ham supporters will likely be delighted to see the latest transfer hint that’s emerged regarding Jesse Lingard.

The former West Ham loanee spent a fruitful few months with the club which saw his impressive form earn him a recall into Gareth Southgate’s England squad, but this season he’s crashed back down to earth with just one league start all campaign.

Will Lingard return to West Ham?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Lingard was heavily linked with a move away from Man United in January with both West Ham and Newcastle United credited with an interest in the midfielder but nothing ended up materialising and that will have left Lingard considering his next move in the summer.

It appears that Lingard could already have one eye on a reunion with the Hammers as his daughter’s Instagram account, which is run by her parents, has shown her outside the London Stadium, claiming they are doing some ‘sightseeing.’

A staple of FIFA Ultimate Team in 2012, which Nigerian striker had a disastrous spell at the Hammers?

West Ham supporters will surely be excited as a return to the London Stadium would be ideal for both West Ham and Lingard as he would arrive already familiar with the squad, manager, coaching staff and has a great relationship with the fan base already.

Indeed, he was one of the stars for the Hammers last season as he produced nine goals and five assists in just 16 Premier League games, which helped them secure a European spot.

The Englishman was the second highest ranked player for the Hammers last season (as per WhoScored), in which he placed in the top five for key passes per game, shots per game, dribbles per game and average passes per game, so you can clearly see the influence he had in such a short space of 16 games.

He attracted lots of plaudits too with Ben Johnson in the West Ham camp singing his praises and Rio Ferdinand also raving about just how good the attacking player was.

However, the Hammers may not be able to compete financially with the likes of PIF backed Newcastle United for one of the most valuable players to become a free agent this summer given his pedigree and experience in the Premier League.
