WeAreTottenhamTV host Simeon Daniel has claimed that forgotten signing Bryan Gil could come good for Tottenham Hotspur in one way or another after his recent performances.

Gil joined Valencia on loan in January from Spurs and has featured seven times in La Liga since his move, whilst contributing with one assist. The Spaniard signed for Spurs from Sevilla last year for just over £22m.

The 21-year-old failed to make an impact for Spurs since he signed in the summer, as he featured just nine times in the Premier League, making zero starts before Antonio Conte decided it was best for him to go out on loan and get some first-team football.

Gil has recently been playing for Spain Under-21s and has impressed by scoring in their recent 3-2 victory over Slovakia, and on the We Are Tottenham TV Youtube channel, Daniel highlighted that they could make a profit on the Spaniard if Conte decides not to play him next season.

He said: “Hopefully he comes back to Tottenham a better player, we can use him, but if not, look, we signed him for £22 million plus Lamela, didn’t we, so I think the way things are going, we can probably get at least double that, £40m maybe.”

TIF Thoughts on Bryan Gil…

Since Spurs managed to snap up Gil in the summer, he has failed to impress in the Premier League, which consequently led to Conte sending him out on loan, in the hope he could come back and perform for Spurs’ first team next campaign.

However, he hasn’t done particularly well on loan with Valencia this season, as he has failed to score and registered just one assist in seven games, whilst losing the ball 15.6 times – at a rate of every 68 minutes in La Liga, as per SofaScore.

So, if the 21-year-old fails to improve on his performances for the remainder of the season, Conte may well opt to cash in on him in the summer.
