Alasdair Gold has hailed the performance of Rodrigo Bentancur in their impressive victory on Monday night in north London.

The Uruguayan midfielder made his return from injury in front of the Tottenham fans on Monday having been sidelined for just over one week (via Transfermarkt).

Bentancur was able to complete the full 90 minutes as the Lilywhites made it back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League with a combined nine goals scored.

The midfielder ended the game with a 93% successful pass rating and played a huge role in the middle of the pitch with 103 touches of the ball and made two tackles (via SofaScore).

And Gold was clearly impressed with the 24-year-old as he awarded the former Juventus man with an 8/10 as he made his fourth appearance for his new side:

“Spurs look better with him in the side. He’s very laid back and composed, occasionally too much so, but he makes things tick and made some crunching tackles,” wrote Gold for football.london.

TIF Thoughts on Bentancur’s display…

We absolutely agree with Gold’s assessment of Spurs being a better side with the 24-year-old in midfield and that can be seen through Tottenham’s stern defence on Monday night.

Although they were up against a poor Everton side, the Toffees were unable to register a single shot on Hugo Lloris’ goal throughout the entirety of the game.

And we feel Bentancur played a big role in that defensive solidity as he cleared the ball away four times but also ended the game with a 100% dribble completion rate (via SofaScore).
