Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel on Antonio Conte’s public outbursts after Tottenham Hotspur’s recent defeats.

Conte is experiencing some dreadful moments as Tottenham manager, having won just two of his last six league games, while he has seen his side pick up three points, only follow that up with a defeat in their next outing on two occasions within the past fortnight.

Will Conte leave Spurs this summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Italian saw his Spurs side lose 1-0 away from home against Championship side Middlesbrough and relegation-threatened Burnley in the last week, which led to Conte claiming that he had to speak with the board about his future and that he might not be good enough for the club.

Romano, though, believes that these comments were aimed directly at the board as a warning and not to the players or fans about his future.

He said: “I think his reactions are for the board, more than for the players, but for the board, from what I’m told.

“Also speaking with people close to Tottenham and close to Antonio, he’s reacting like this, first of all, because this is Antonio Conte. I was not surprised.

“I was speaking with an English journalist after his reaction after the Burnley game.

“I told him we know Antonio here in Italy, and it was absolutely normal. Inter were first in the table, and many times he was reacting like this because he was not happy with the situation with the board.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte’s Spurs future…

The Italian manager has claimed that he wishes to build a winning mentality at Tottenham – something that’s been missing since 2008 when they last lifted a piece of silverware, however, he can only do that with the board’s backing and full support.

This is something he seemingly didn’t receive in January, claiming that he lost four important players while only seeing two arrive, with both new recruits coming on Deadline Day, so not allowing for much time to get them integrated into the squad.

Daniel - Levy

How many times did Mido score for Spurs in the 2006/07 season?

So if he’s not sufficiently backed by Spurs and Daniel Levy in the summer, it would not be a shock to see Conte call time on his tenure as Tottenham manager, despite Romano’s claims.
