Former player Jonathan Woodgate has tipped Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte to sign a new deal due to Spurs not being able to get any better.

Antonio Conte was appointed as Spurs manager on November 3rd, and after that, he started life back in the Premier League well, as he lead his side to nine games unbeaten.

Spurs now see themselves sit in 8th place in the Premier League table, but if they win their two games in hand then they will jump up to 5th, in a Europa League spot, if things stay the same.

One thing that has been uncertain at times is Antonio Conte’s future as Spurs boss, with him setting a kind of demand to Daniel Levy ahead of the summer. Although, more positive reports have come out regarding his future in recent times, though nothing is certain at this point.

Interestingly, Jonathan Woodgate has recently said that he is “sure” that Spurs will be renewing the Italian’s contract due to the lack of options that they could get as a replacement.

“I know he’s only got an 18-month contract, but I’m sure that’ll get renewed at some point because Spurs aren’t going to get a better manager than Antonio Conte. That is for starters, ” Woodgate said.

TIF Thoughts on Jonathan Woodgate’s comments…

As was mentioned above, nothing is officially confirmed, but Conte now seems to have his eyes set on a future with Tottenham if Levy can meet his demand.

Of course, securing a new deal for Conte would not only be major for the club but it would also be big in terms of Harry Kane as he has previously suggested that his future hinges on the future of the Italian.

The Italian has even been hailed as one of the best managers in the world by Harry Kane. He has a hugely impressive history having lifted the Premier League title, FA Cup and seven pieces of silverware in Italy. Conte has also averaged above two points per game at pretty much every club he’s managed at since 2011, apart from Spurs where he currently sits on 1.68. It just goes to show what he can do if he’s given the right resources.
