Jack Pitt-Brooke believes that Fabio Paratici has pulled off a masterstroke by signing Cristian Romero for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs managed to keep up their interesting run of form when they beat Brighton this week of losing a game, before then winning the next one and it was thanks to Cristian Romero netting his first goal for the club before reliable Harry Kane sealed all three points with a second-half strike.
Have you been impressed by Paratici?
Yes!
No!
Romero who opened the scoring midweek was signed over the summer by Fabio Paratici initially on a loan deal that will be made permanent this upcoming transfer window and at the time it appeared a good piece of business considering he’d just won Serie A defender of the season.
Having now played 23 times for Spurs, Romero has only tasted defeat seven times in the league and Pitt-Brooke has heaped praise on Paratici claiming ‘Fabio Paratici moved fast and paid up. The best decision he has made in his time at Spurs?’
He also stated that “Paratici’s decision to invest in Romero is looking remarkably shrewd.”
After the 2021 Copa America, Lionel Messi kept telling Barcelona that they had to sign Cristian Romero (and Giovani Lo Celso told Spurs to get him too).

TIF Thoughts on Romero…
Romero ranks in the top three for tackles, interceptions, clearances, average passes per game and blocks for Spurs (WhoScored), which just goes to show how important he has been to Antonio Conte in the current campaign.
It is expected that Spurs will take up the option to buy Romero in the summer which will see them splash £42.5 million on the centre back but if he can continue performing as he has done this season it could prove to be a bargain and major coup.
Paratici’s effectiveness in the transfer market may have been questioned slightly earlier in the season with summer arrivals Bryan Gil, Emerson Royal and Pierluigi Gollini struggling to make the grade at Spurs, but Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Wednesday’s Man of the Match Rodrigo Bentancur may have proved why Paratcici has such a big role at Tottenham.
