Liam Kennedy has been speaking on NUFC Matters about what the future holds for Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden.

Eddie Howe had to make a tough decision as Newcastle United manager a few weeks ago when deciding who to leave out of his 25-man Premier League squad and in the end, it was Ciaran Clark, Jamal Lewis and Isaac Hayden who were chopped.

Should Newcastle sell Hayden this summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

While the latter was injured at the time so was an easier decision for Howe to make, he’s now seemingly back in training with his teammates, but his future still doesn’t seem to be very clear and might be away from Tyneside.

That’s according to Kennedy who admits he would be surprised to see Hayden play for Newcastle again.

(52:32) “I’d be surprised if a lot of the players left out, returned to the squad, so you look at Jamal Lewis, Isaac Hayden in particular has been a fantastic servant for the football club.

“I’d be very surprised if you see them back in black and white again, some people might not like that, but it’s just it’s called progress, unfortunately.”

TIF Thoughts on Hayden…

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

As Kennedy alluded to, Hayden has been a superb and loyal servant for Newcastle United having played a pivotal role during their title-winning season in the Championship and then went on to rack up 118 appearances in the Premier League.

With Bruno Guimaraes arriving in January and Joelinton now a fantastic central midfielder, it looks very difficult to find a spot for Hayden in the Newcastle United squad never mind the starting lineup, so it could be time for him to part ways with the club that gave him his first chance to impress as a first-team regular.
