Manuel Lanzini has apologised to West Ham fans on Instagram following his big miss on Saturday evening.

West Ham travelled to Anfield on Saturday evening hopeful of getting a positive result and to ain’t their good run of form which was four league games unbeaten, however, they were punished by Sadio Mane and could only record a 1-0 defeat.

Will West Ham finish in the top four?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, it could have been very different as in the first half the Hammers had a glorious chance to level things up via Lanzini with the ball falling to him in the box but he could only fire over.

This then saw the Argentine midfielder take to Instagram to post an apology to West Ham fans for his huge miss in which he said ‘First I want to say I am very proud of this team. And second sorry for that goal missed.’

TIF Thoughts on Lanzini’s apology…

Which defender born in 1985 used to play for West Ham's academy?

Considering that Liverpool are top of the Premier League form table and are unbeaten at Anfield this season, it’s quite bizarre that Lanzini felt the need to apologise for his miss when the Hammers were likely not expecting anything from the game to start with.

Games against a team fighting for the Premier League will not define West Ham’s season and the good previous run of form still has them in a great position to secure European football for next season, so Lanzini and the Hammers squad just have to forget about the miss, the game and move on.
