Presenter Richard Keys has labelled Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as a ‘bang-average imposter’.

Pogba is now enduring his sixth season back in the Premier League with Manchester United and has had a frustrating campaign, with injuries and poor form leading him to feature in just 16 Premier League games, with 13 of those games coming from the start.

Despite this, he still has an impressive nine assists to his name, which puts him fourth in the entire league, just two behind Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has the most with 11.

With Pogba’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Keys wrote on his personal blog and highlighted his opinions on the French midfielder over the five and a half years since returning to the club following his recent comments on his current spell at Old Trafford.

He said: “Paul Pogba reckons he’s wasted five and a half years of his career at United. Those of us who watch him every week would agree. And United have wasted millions on a bang-average imposter. How dare he? You can count on one hand the number of good games he’s had in a United jersey. I’ve seen some good players in United red down the years – he, definitely – isn’t one of them.

“If I were running United, I’d invite him to leave now. What’s the point of him staying? He has absolutely nothing to contribute. United will be better off without him. Play someone who wants to wear that magnificent jersey. Who wants to be at OT. Who cares. Who’s proud to represent the club. Pogba makes my blood boil.”

TIF Thoughts on Richard Keys’ comments…

Pogba has had another frustrating season for Manchester United this campaign due to injuries and not being able to hit form. He has had a mixed season in terms of stats because he has an impressive nine assists in the Premier League, whilst having an average successful dribble rate of 73% per game, but he also has scored just once and loses possession on average 13.3 times per game, as per SofaScore.

Pogba has only managed to start over 30 times once in the Premier League in the six seasons that he has been back at Old Trafford, and for an £89m player, the United faithful may not be best pleased with this and could be happy if they were to see the back of him in the summer.
