Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has shown just how well settled he now is in England with his humourous Instagram hashtag.

The Greek defender joined the Reds back in 2020, signing from Olympiacos for a reported fee of £11.75m. In his first season, however, he failed to make a huge impact as he adapted to life on Merseyside.

How well do you know these Liverpool squad numbers? Starting off with an easy one: Mo Salah

Indeed, he played just twice in the Premier League and finished the season with only 225 minutes of game time under his belt across all competitions.

Now deep into his second season with the club, there are signs that he has started to truly adjust to life away from his home nation.

This was well represented in his most recent Instagram post in which he referred to himself as the ‘#greekscouser’ while being immersed in the smoke of a red flare during their most recent game at Nottingham Forest.

TIF Thoughts on Kostas Tsimikas and Liverpool…

Tsimikas made the social media post to celebrate Liverpool’s recent FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest. Tsimikas played the full 90 minutes in that game and provided the assist for Diogo Jota’s winner in the 1-0 victory.

That display was the 20th match the left-back has featured in this season, which is already far more than he managed in his debut campaign. 10 of those games have also been in the Premier League, showing how manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to trust him more regularly now.

While referring to himself as a Greek scouser shows a sense of humour, it also represents his development in the team and that he has now begun to truly find his feet in Liverpool.
