Injury analyst Ben Dinnery has claimed Jamie Vardy is set for a period on the sidelines for Leicester City after he sustained another injury.

Vardy has featured 18 times in the Premier League this season, whilst scoring 10 goals and registering two assists, according to Transfermarkt.

The English striker faced two months on the sidelines and was starting in his first Premier League game since the turn of the year on Saturday, but had to be subbed off after 61 minutes played due to a knee injury.

Ben Dinnery spoke on the Premier FPL Injuries YouTube channel and claimed that Vardy is set to be sidelined until after the international break.

“Unfortunately, Jamie Vardy has suffered a setback and it looks as if he will be out for another spell on the sidelines. No definitive timeline as such at the moment, but what we understand, it will extend to at least until after the international break.”

TIF Thoughts on the Jamie Vardy injury…

Although Vardy has had injury woes this season, he has still produced the goods when fit, as he has 10 goals in 18 Premier League appearances for Leicester – so missing Vardy is a huge blow for Rodgers as his side takes on Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League tonight.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka have been the strikers to replace Vardy during his absence, but they have not been able to find the net as of late. Iheanacho hasn’t scored in Leicester’s last seven games while Daka has failed to score since the previous Conference League tie.

With the other forwards at Leicester failing to replace Vardy’s touch in front of goal, the striker being sidelined again due to injury will be a big hurdle for Leicester to overcome as we near the business end of the season.
