Graham Smyth has been critical of Raphinha after Leeds narrowly lost 1-0 against Leicester City this afternoon at the King Power Stadium.

Jesse Marsch’s side were unlucky to lsoe this afternoon against the Foxes after Harvey Barnes scored the only goal of the game in the second half.

Raphinha experienced a slight dip in form in the final few games that Marcelo Bielsa was manager of Leeds – he was given just a 5.9 rating on Sofascore for his poor display against Liverpool a few weeks ago.

Smyth gave his player ratings on Yorkshire Evening Post and was critical of the Brazilian’s performance at the King Power.

“Raphinha 6/10- Came into it more in the second half but is still playing below his level. Missed a golden chance.” Smyth said.

TIF Thoughts on Raphinha…

Raphinha has been Leeds United’s star man this season, and whilst the Whites have struggled, the Brazilian at times has been their only savior. He has scored nine goals and assisted twice in 24 Premier League games, according to Transfermarkt.

However, he has recently seen his good form come to an end, which started when he was dragged off at halftime against Everton when Leeds ended up losing 3-0 at Goodison Park.

There were talks of a move away from Elland Road for Raphinha, and this may have been playing on his mind.

Despite this, he is a player that Marsch will need to pick up form as he could be the difference and supply the magic to ensure Premier League safety for the American coach.
