Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts was forced off due to injury last weekend and took to Instagram to update the fans.

Roberts was subbed on by new Leeds boss Jesse Marsch in the 76th minute in hope that he could impact the game, but unfortunately, he suffered an injury meaning he couldn’t continue and Leeds had to play the remaining minutes with 10 men.

Although Roberts has featured 23 times for the Whites this season in the Premier League, he has been slightly out of favour under former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa as 16 of those appearances have been from the bench.

Leeds recently announced that following his injury, Roberts will be out for three months, with the Welshman posting a message to the fans prior to undergoing hamstring surgery, describing it as a ‘big blow’ to be missing the rest of the campaign.

After Roberts took to Instagram to update the fans on his injury, teammate Stuart Dallas responded in the comments section, saying: “We are all with you.”

TIF Thoughts on Tyler Roberts…

Roberts had struggled for regular minutes this season under Marcelo Bielsa, even with the severe injury woes that Leeds have come under. So, the introduction of Marsch could have been a perfect opportunity for him to show the new manager what he can do and fight for a place in the starting XI.

The Welsh international has shown his versatility as he has featured in attacking midfield as well as at centre-forward this season for Leeds, according to Transfermarkt. Marsch is a coach who in the past has regularly opted for a formation involving two strikers. So, with the lack of senior forward players currently at Leeds, Roberts could have played a key role for his side in the remainder of the season.

Furthermore, the injury has come at the wrong time for Roberts, as the 23-year-old may not be able to show what he can do before the summer, at which point Marsch could be looking to bolster his attacking options.
