Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Jesse Marsch’s comments after the 2-1 victory against on Sunday were significant.

Jesse Marsch picked up his first win as Leeds United manager on Sunday after Joe Gelhardt’s 94th-minute winner meant the game finished 2-1 at Elland Road.

The victory on Sunday was not only Marsch’s first win as Leeds boss, but it was also the Whites’ first victory in eight Premier League games, with their last win before that coming on the 16th of February against West Ham.

Jesse Marsch said in an emotional post-match interview, “On my deathbed, I’ll reflect on this day,”(Mail online).

Dean Jones spoke to GIVEMESPORT and said that the comments made by Jesse Marsch after the game were “pretty significant”.

“For Jesse Marsch, he said that it’s a moment that will stick with him for the rest of his life. That’s pretty significant, a couple of games into his reign,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

Marsch came into Leeds with a tough mountain to climb as they are well in the mix of a relegation scrap.

The victory over Norwich was an important one for Marsch, as the three points took Leeds four points away from Watford who sit in 18th place in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa was struggling this season with Leeds but this was largely down to the injury woes that he had with his side. Key players such as Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips, and Patrick Bamford have all missed lengthy periods of this season due to injury.

Marsch received a huge boost after Patrick Bamford started his first game since the 17th of September.

To have already had such a memorable moment shows just how much Leeds already appears to mean to him, and who can blame him for saying that after seeing the incredible scenes when Gelhardt knocked the winning goal in.
