Joseph Masi has claimed on the Baggies Broadcast podcast that West Brom will sign Jayson Molumby permanently in the summer.

Molumby was one of three loan signings handed to former West Brom boss Valerien Ismael over the summer, and despite not making his debut for the club until 28th September, he’s now racked up 23 appearances for the club.

Can Bruce get West Brom promoted?

No!

The 22-year old midfielder on loan from Brighton has featured in every single game since new manager Steve Bruce arrived and they may well be getting to know each other a bit better, with Masi claiming that it’s expected Molumby will be signed permanently in the summer.

Masi has revealed that there was an obligation to buy in Molumby’s loan deal based on how many appearances he made this season.

He said: “They are contractually obliged to sign Molumby based on a set amount of appearances. We don’t know what those appearances are, however, I was told when he arrived that it’s a low number that was highly likely to be triggered.”

Do you know the record signing for these Championship sides? Let's see if you do, starting with Fulham

Much like his time under Ismael, Molumby doesn’t appear to be fully trusted by Bruce, with the midfielder recently dropping out the side and only being handed three minutes of game time as soon as the previously suspended Jake Livermore was back and ready for selection, reducing Molumby to just a squad player once again.

However, if West Brom are going to be as tight with their money as they were last summer and only bringing in loan and free-agent signings, Bruce could do worse than hand Molumby an extended run of games in the side to see how or where he may fit into his side next season.
