Rangers fans will surely be left fuming as footage has emerged from their most recent game in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers were given a perfect opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table over the weekend – a gap that was just three points following the last round of games ahead of their latest clash at Ibrox.

Who followed James Tavernier to Rangers from Wigan Athletic in the same season?

Following Celtic’s draw with Hibernian earlier in the day, a win would have closed the gap to just one point, and it looked like Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were on course to do just that when they took a 2-0 lead inside the first 25 minutes, however, two goals in the second half meant that they were ultimately held to a 2-2 draw.

The first goal that they conceded (1:38) was certainly one that they’ll want to have back. As a cross came in from the right-hand side, the ball was allowed to drift between Connor Goldson and Allan McGregor to allow Motherwell’s Jordan Roberts to nip in and put the ball away.

TIF Thoughts on Allan McGregor and Connor Goldson for Rangers…

Will Giovanni van Bronckhorst succeed at Rangers?

No

It looks as if it was bad communication between the two, almost as if they were both expecting the other man to come and get it, only for neither of them to and allow the Motherwell man to take advantage of the situation.

A decision like that isn’t great at the best of times, but to do so when presented with a chance to make an impact on the title race is just catastrophic. You just have to hope that it isn’t something that starts to creep into their games between now and the end of the season, or they could very well start to throw away their chances of winning the league.

Having already thrown away the six-point lead that they had at the turn of the year, they can’t afford many more slip-ups, or this season could very well go down a massive wasted opportunity.
