Celtic ace Nir Bitton will not want to see the footage which has emerged on Twitter following their Europa Conference League defeat on Thursday night.

The Bhoys were dumped out of Europe in emphatic fashion after a 5-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of the Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.

And Ange Postecoglou’s side saw their hopes of a second-leg turnaround denied on Thursday night, where Bitton could be viewed as being at fault for the second goal of the evening for Kjetil Knutsen’s side.

Hugo Vetlesen doubled the Norwegian side’s lead on Thursday after finding himself free inside the box having lost the Celtic midfielder.

It was a night to forget for the Bhoys, but the footage posted by BT Sport only highlighted what proved to be an underwhelming display from Postecoglou’s captain on the night.

TIF Thoughts on Bitton’s display…

Having been awarded the armband on Thursday, it was not exactly an inspiring display from the Israeli midfielder, who lost the ball on 17 occasions (via SofaScore).

There was a complete lack of attacking threat coming from the visitors, with the Bhoys only able to muster up two shots on Joshua Smits’ goal.

And there was no attacking intent coming from Bitton, with the 30-year-old failing to register a single shot, key pass or cross throughout the 90 minutes (via SofaScore).

The Israeli midfielder has played an inconsistent role in Postecoglou’s side this season, and with a big game at the weekend against Hibernian coming up, it will be interesting to see if he is replaced for the game at Easter Road.
