West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal has praised ‘on fire’ teammate Jarrod Bowen for his recent display.

In the Hammers’ most recent Premier League outing, they squeezed past Watford with a narrow 1-0 victory. The game was one of ‘fine margins‘, with both teams struggling to create many goalscoring opportunities.

In the end, though, Bowen decided to take his chances with an effort from distance and got his reward. Indeed, his shot at goal took a fortunate deflection off Hornets defender Samir and ended up hitting the back of the net, ultimately deciding the game.

After the match, the West Ham ace took to Instagram to show some images of himself from the evening and included the caption: “Tough game tonight but happy with the win & goal.”

Irons defender Coufal was one of the first to follow up with big praise on the social media post, saying: “On fire again”, with a fire emoji.

Impressively, Bowen has reached double figures for both goals and assists in all competitions this season, with 11 goals and 10 assists.

His strike against Watford takes him onto seven Premier League goals for the season and some feel as if he is doing enough to make the England senior team.

Indeed, a number of former Three Lions stars – including Jack Wilshere and Teddy Sheringham – have come on the record as saying Gareth Southgate should look to give the Hammers man an international call-up in the future.

As of yet, Bowen remains uncapped, but if he continues his current form, it seems more than likely he is destined for an England appearance sooner rather than later.
