Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Teddy Sheringham has stated that he feels Harry Kane’s mindset over his future has changed.

Harry Kane has been prolific in the Premier League over a long period of time now and this sparked interest from big clubs across Europe. But despite heavy interest from Manchester United and Manchester City, he eventually opted to stay loyal to Spurs.

The former England international believes that Kane felt he would ‘never win anything’ at Spurs, but their January activity could persuade him to stay for the long term.

He said: “He thought he was never going to win anything at Tottenham. If he can see players coming into the club, players like these two Juventus boys, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, if they perform and become top players in the Premier League, that will change Harry’s mind, without a doubt.

“I see that change in his mindset from five or six months ago where he wanted to leave.

“That’s what I’m seeing from the outside, I don’t know that but that’s the vibe I was getting. I think that is changing [and he’s thinking], ‘Maybe I don’t have to move, maybe things are looking a little bit rosier where I am.’

TIF Thoughts on a potential mindset change for Harry Kane after his failure to sign for Manchester City in the summer…

Although Kane has shown a clear change in form this campaign after the summer speculation, there could have been a potential change in mindset for England’s captain from the point Antonio Conte arrived back in November.

Since the Italian’s introduction, the club have made clear improvements and in raiding former club Juventus, it could be argued he has used his pull to bring in new players that potentially wouldn’t have shown interest in the north London club before his appointment.

Therefore, if Conte can continue to improve Spurs’ performances on the pitch and bring in more talent in the summer, then Kane could definitely be persuaded to stay.

On top of this, Kane could have missed the boat for an opportunity to move away from Spurs, after his poor form this campaign may have put a halt to the interest in him from other clubs.
