Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his latest YouTube video to discuss an interesting observation from Sunday’s game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following Tottenham’s loss on the weekend, Gold believes the club turned up the post-game music inside the stadium to drown out the potential boos after the whistle.

Is it time for ENIC to go?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Antonio Conte’s men suffered a third straight Premier League defeat at the weekend to Wolverhampton Wanderers, which saw the Lilywhites booed off at half time.

The club’s owners have been at the centre of speculation over the last week, with suggestions they have rejected a potential bid to take over the north London club.

And with a lot of frustrations surrounding the club’s owners, Gold believes the music may have been turned up to avoid any frustrations directed at Daniel Levy being heard.

He said: “I don’t know whether this is me being cynical, but I have noticed that after defeats, they ramp up that music in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the speaker system.

“Don’t know what it is, some random music. It’s obviously not the happy Tottenham music that we normally get, When the Spurs Go Marching On and all that sort of stuff. It is some poppy stuff.

“But they ramp that up so high, and the cynical side of me wonders, is that to stop people airing their frustrations and chants, maybe against Daniel Levy or ENIC, the board or whatever?”

TIF Thoughts on fans’ frustrations…

Whether masking fans’ displeasure is a good idea or not is debatable, though if what Gold suspects is true, it would suggest that the club are only too aware of the discontent in the stands at present.

We certainly understand why some of the Spurs fans may be frustrated at the moment, with results taking a major decline since the turn of the year.

After a bright start under Conte, the Lilywhites have won just twice in the Premier League this year and now find themselves sitting in eighth spot of the table.

However, despite their recent issues, the Lilywhites still remain in a good position to make the top four, with three games in hand on fourth-placed Manchester United.

And their defence should be boosted by the return of Eric Dier at the weekend against Manchester City, which should benefit Conte’s men who have struggled without the Englishman.

I am prepared to write off this season (providing we don’t finish 7th,) and then see what we buy in the Summer before I write off Enic. That will be their last chance for me though.
