Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold has been hailing Antonio Conte’s transformation in north London by revealing the thoughts from inside Hotspur Way.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Spurs correspondent has claimed the staff in north London have been blown away by the Italian and his first few months at Tottenham.

Do you expect top four from Spurs this season?

The Lilywhites progressed to the last 16 of the FA Cup over the weekend, and ahead of their return to league action on Wednesday, Spurs sit just two points off the top four with two games in hand.

A busy month lies ahead of Tottenham, with the first of their six games in February under their belt as Conte’s men certainly returned from the break with a bang with a convincing victory over an impressive Brighton & Hove Albion side.

With results on the pitch taking an upturn under the Italian manager since November, Gold shared his knowledge of the feelings behind the scenes on his impact on the Spurs squad.

He said: “Everyone I know around that club has just been blown away by the work he does. It’s so detailed, it’s so kind of just intensive for each player, it’s so focused and they know exactly what they have to do.

“I’m going to talk about some of the words Harry Kane says about him in a little bit as well. And for him, he loves that side of stuff. So for him to have a player like [Cristian] Romero, it’s just like, thank you so much. This is the kind of quality that big teams are built on.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs under Conte…

The difference between Conte’s and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Spurs sides feels like night and day. Under Espirito Santo, the Lilywhites suffered a number of defeats in which they conceded three goals.

However, under Conte, the defence has been tightened up massively and should only become stronger with Eric Dier and Cristian Romero returning from their respective injuries.

Spurs have only lost one league game under Conte, and going by Gold’s comments from behind the scenes, it seems the Italian’s training methods are coming to fruition on the pitch.
